Blue Crane Farm in Dullstroom is an exceptional fly-fishing destination featuring two beautifully maintained and well-stocked trout dams. Our larger dam covers an impressive 9 hectares and includes several jetties to enhance your fly-fishing experience.
This charming venue offers stunning natural scenery and a variety of free-roaming game species, including fallow deer, springbok, blesbok, zebra, hartebeest, and vaal rhebok. The birdlife is remarkable, with several endangered species, such as the Blue Crane and Crowned Cranes, regularly nesting on the farm.
The accommodation consists of eight well-appointed self-catering units, ranging from a cozy 2-sleeper cottage to larger 8-sleeper houses. In total, the farm can accommodate 44 guests, making Blue Crane Farm the ideal venue for both small and large group bookings.
Each unit provides privacy while remaining easily accessible to one another, allowing you to visit family or friends in neighboring units. All units face the waterfront, offering stunning views of the surrounding grasslands.

Blue Crane Farm is located about a 10-minute drive from the charming village of Dullstroom and is easily accessible from the R540, the main road connecting Belfast and Dullstroom. This popular tourist destination offers a variety of excellent restaurants, shops, a craft brewery, whiskey, wine, gin tastings, and cozy pubs.
Nearby attractions include golf at the renowned Ernie Els-designed Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate, which is approximately a 25-minute drive away via the scenic Kruisfontein Road. Other activities in the area include visiting the Bird of Prey Center, mountain biking, and horse riding.
The gravel road leading from the main road to the entrance of Blue Crane Farm is just 900 meters long and well-maintained, making it easily accessible for any low-clearance vehicles.
